January 30,
2011
Dear Parents,
Enclosed
please find your registration materials for the 2011-2012 school year. You
are encouraged to take advantage of the early re-registration incentive.
This lower fee is only available from March 1, 2011 - May 31,
2011. Please note, the first $100.00 of the registration fee is due at the
time of registration. The balance must be paid in full by July 1, 2011.
Failure to do so will result in the loss of any reduction previously
given. Speak with Mr. Sanders about the multiple child discount.
These are times when all of us, schools as well as families, are feeling the
strain of stretching finite finances as far as we can. For many of the
families in our Archdiocese, a true blessing which has made an otherwise
unaffordable Catholic Education affordable has been participation in the
Partners in Excellence Program (which was recently renamed the Partners in
Excellence Scholarship Program). This program, since its beginning fourteen
years ago, has grown to include more than 350 philanthropic, business, and
private benefactors as funding partners to families wishing to give their
children the blessing and heritage of a Catholic education. Currently, 1,959
children are receiving that gift of assistance.
In
order to be prudent stewards and extend this gift of partial assistance to
as many qualifying families as possible, the Archdiocese now requires all
families who wish to begin or continue their children’s receipt of PIE
Scholarship assistance to participate in an application procedure developed
and managed by FACTS Grant & Aid Analysis. The application process will
consist of filling in a form requesting specific information and meeting a
specific timeline for submitting that information. FACTS will screen the
applications and make recommendations. The perspective of the principals
concerning PIE Scholars also will be elicited. These key steps will assist
central office staff to determine the appropriate scholarship award for each
qualifying applicant.
To ensure that
everyone in the Saint Ambrose School community who participates in or wishes
to participate in a scholarship program understands and feels comfortable
about the procedure, there will be three very important meetings to explain
the process and assist you with completing the necessary paperwork. These
meetings are scheduled for Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the
Rectory; Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in the Rectory; and
Wednesday, February16, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the school library. You may
elect to come to any one of these meetings. However, you must attend one of
the meetings to be considered for a scholarship or tuition assistance.
ALL FINANCIAL AID APPLICATIONS ARE DUE TO FACTS BY MARCH 1ST.
It is in your
best interest to apply early because funds are limited and those who apply
early will be considered first. Please don’t wait until the funds run out.
Everyone will be asked to RSVP with Ms. Rice prior to the scheduled
meetings. Please call 410-664-2373 to sign up for a day and time.
Please
encourage your friends and family members with school age children to
consider Saint Ambrose School to meet the educational needs of their
children. A month’s free tuition will be given to each family who refers a
family who enrolls and attends St. Ambrose School in the 2011-2012
school-year.
Thank you
for allowing us to work with you to meet the instructional needs of your
child. We look forward to continuing the educational partnership. May the
peace and blessings of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, be with you
always.
Yours truly,
Pamela Sanders
Principal
